Educational Aid Fund
The Educational Aid Fund was created to provide Scholarships and loans “to help young people help themselves”.
Scholarship Application Deadlines: to receive consideration, the Educational Aid Fund Secretary must receive applications by July 1 for Full Time Scholarships and September 1 for Part Time Scholarships.
 Full Time Scholarships
For the academic year beginning in September Full Time Scholarships will be divided among all eligible applicants to the next lower multiple of $5.The minimum amount of Scholarship awards will be $400 and the maximum amount will be $1,000. All Scholarship applications must be received by July 1. Recipients will be named in July and notified of the scholarship amount at that time. Checks for the awards will be payable to the student. Checks will be mailed to the recipients on receipt of evidence indicating completion of the first semester of their academic year and enrollment in the second semester. The verification form requiring completion to give this information will be enclosed with the letter in July to student members receiving awards.
First Scholarships The eligibility requirements for First Scholarships are full time enrollment in at least a two-year course having a requisite of high school graduation, membership of at least one year in a Massachusetts Subordinate Grange on the due date for applications, and no prior Scholarship from this Fund. The application form to be used is headed, APPLICATION FOR FIRST SCHOLARSHIP. The second page of the application form lists supporting detail that is to be furnished with the application.
Subsequent Scholarships – The eligibility requirements for Subsequent Scholarships are full time enrollment, being the recipient of at least a First Scholarship, having continued and current Massachusetts Subordinate Grange membership and having successfully completed the college year or years for which Fund scholarships were awarded. Evidence of progress will be transcript of the most recent college record. No member is entitled to more than one Subsequent Scholarship for a two-year college program not more than three Subsequent Scholarships for a four-year program. The application form to be used is headed APPLICATION FOR SUBSEQUENT SCHOLARSHIP.
Part Time Scholarships
Scholarships are available for Grange Members who are enrolled part time in Degree granting programs. Awards of up to $25 per credit hour will be made with a maximum of 15 credit hours. Evidence of at least one year’s Grange membership is required. Proof of enrollment in a Degree granting program, a transcript and receipted college bill must be submitted with the application. Recipients will be selected in September. Applications must be received by September 1, as awards will be made at that time. The application form to be used is headed PART TIME SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION.
Scholarship Maximum – No member is entitled to more than four Scholarships (full and/or part time).
Grange Activity Scholarship Bonus Award
Awards will be available to students who have contributed their time and talent in an outstanding manner to the Grange. Students may apply for this award by submitting the form headed GRANGE ACTIVITY SCHOLARSHIP BONUS AWARD with their application. This should be countersigned by the Master, Secretary, or Lecturer of the applicant’s Subordinate Grange. These awards are competitive and no student may receive more than one Scholarship bonus Award payment. Payment will be made as part of the Scholarship Award.
